That construction makes it strong enough for wearable jewelry while still allowing your piece to drape naturally. The goal is not just to get beads onto a strand. It is to create a finish that feels intentional, wears comfortably, and keeps your carefully chosen materials secure.
Start With the Right Beading Wire
The number printed on a spool tells you two useful things: the wire diameter and, often, the number of steel strands inside. Diameter affects what will fit through your beads. Strand count affects flexibility and resistance to kinking.

Beading wire is durable, but it is not indestructible. Repeated sharp bends create weak points, so avoid forcing it through a bead hole that is too small. If the wire kinks badly, replace that section rather than trying to straighten it. A kink can remain a future break point, even if it seems to disappear under a bead.
Also consider how the jewelry will be worn. A lightweight 0.015-inch wire may be ideal for a delicate seed bead necklace, but it is not the best match for a bracelet filled with weighty glass and metal.
